How to Make the Best Greek-Style Vegan Tofu Feta
If you’re looking for a bold, tangy, dairy-free feta cheese alternative, this tofu feta is it. It’s not trying to be an exact replica of traditional feta, it’s doing its own thing, and honestly? It slaps.

This tofu feta is savory, herby, a little salty, and packed with umami thanks to ingredients like white miso, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, garlic, and nutritional yeast. It’s a quick, no-fuss vegan cheese alternative that’s perfect for salads, skewers, wraps, grain bowls, or just eating straight from the container (no judgment).

Why This Tofu Feta Works
Unlike some store-bought versions, this homemade vegan feta cheese is free of weird additives and packed with real flavor. The texture is firm yet tender, and you can adjust it to your liking- use super-firm tofu for a classic crumbly finish, or opt for extra-firm tofu if you want it just slightly softer while still holding its shape.
A blend of white miso, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, and crushed garlic cloves gives this cheese its addictive tang, while dried oregano, nutritional yeast, onion powder, and a sprinkle of chili flakes bring that punchy Mediterranean energy. It’s a true Greek-style vegan feta that stands on its own.

Easy, Flavor-Packed, and Versatile
This recipe is super quick and easy to make- just whisk up the marinade, cube your tofu, and let them marry together. It’s ready to enjoy in about an hour, but letting it sit overnight is highly recommended, as it takes the flavor to the next level. Minimal effort, maximum payoff.

Serve it as a tofu feta salad topper (it’s insanely good on top of my High-Protein Vegan Mediterranean Salad– the tangy, herby flavor pairs perfectly with the lentils, quinoa, and fresh veggies), stuff it in a wrap, or go the skewer route: pair cubes with cherry tomatoes, fresh basil leaves, and a slice of peach or cantaloupe, then drizzle with balsamic glaze for a next-level appetizer or light lunch.
If you’ve been missing that feta vibe but want something plant-based and flavorful on its own terms, this recipe is your new best friend. It’s fast, flexible, and actually delicious.

How to Make the Best Greek-Style Vegan Tofu Feta
Ingredients
- One 14 ounce container super firm tofu, cut into medium-small cubes (You can also use extra firm tofu if you prefer a slightly softer texture!)
- 2 1/2 tbsp white miso paste
- 1/3 cup raw apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 tbsp garlic cloves, peeled and minced
- 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp red pepper chili flakes
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients except the tofu to a container and whisk with a fork until well combined.
- Add the tofu, close the container, and gently flip it upside down and back a few times to evenly coat the tofu.
- Let the tofu marinate overnight, especially if you're using super firm tofu. For extra firm tofu, a few hours will do, but overnight always delivers the best flavor!
- Use this tangy vegan tofu feta to top salads, stuff into sandwiches or wraps, sprinkle over roasted veggies, or enjoy as a flavorful addition to Mediterranean bowls and appetizers!
