Easy Homemade Vegan Dog Treats with Pumpkin & Peanut Butter
If you love spoiling your pup, these vegan dog treats are an absolute must. Made with wholesome ingredients like oats, pumpkin, and peanut butter, they’re healthier, easier to make, and way more cost-effective than anything you’ll find at the store. I’ve given them to tons of dogs, and let me tell you- they go crazy for them. Seriously- tails wagging, tongues out, pure excitement all around.

Healthier and Cleaner
One of the best things about making your own treats is that you know exactly what’s going in. No artificial flavors, preservatives, or unnecessary fillers- just clean, plant-based ingredients that you can feel good about giving to your furry friend. It’s a little act of love that goes a long way for your pup’s health.
Fun and Easy to Make
These treats aren’t just good for dogs- they’re fun for humans too. Rolling out the dough, cutting out shapes, and watching your dog eagerly wait for a taste is such a satisfying experience. Even if you’re short on time, the simplicity of the ingredients and process makes it easy to whip up a batch whenever you want.

Cost-Effective and Thoughtful
Store-bought dog treats can get pricey, but these homemade vegan dog treats are made with pantry staples you probably already have. Plus, they make an amazing gift for a friend or loved one with a dog. A little jar of homemade treats is thoughtful, creative, and guaranteed to put a smile on both human and pup faces!

Why Your Dog Will Love Them
Dogs don’t care about fancy packaging- they care about taste. With the combo of pumpkin and peanut butter, these treats hit the perfect balance of flavor and texture. Your pup will thank you with excitement (and probably a few extra tail wags).

Easy Homemade Vegan Dog Treats with Pumpkin & Peanut Butter
Equipment
- Food Processor
- Rolling Pin
- Cookie cutters
- Bench scraper
Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/3 cup pure pumpkin puree (Do NOT use pumpkin pie filling. The ONLY ingredient should be pumpkin.)
- 1/4 cup pure peanut butter (The ONLY ingredient should be peanuts.)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Add the oats to a food processor and blend on high until they resemble a fine flour. Add in the pumpkin puree and peanut butter, and blend on low just until everything comes together.Tip: If using pre-made oat flour, stir it together with the pumpkin and peanut butter in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- Dump the mixture onto a clean countertop and gently press it into a rough rectangle. Roll it out with a rolling pin in one direction from the center out, then lift the rolling pin and roll in another direction. Avoid pressing back and forth aggressively, which can tear the dough. Repeat as needed until the dough is a thin sheet, about 1/8-inch thick. Tip: The dough should be slightly sticky, but if it sticks TOO much to the counter, lightly dust the counter underneath with oat flour (made the same way as earlier).
- Cut the dough into your desired cookie shapes, using a bench scraper to carefully lift and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Press the scraps together, roll out again, and repeat.
- Place the baking sheet in the middle of the oven. The cookies are ready when lightly golden brown and fairly crunchy, even while hot- usually around 25–30 minutes, flipping and rotating halfway.
- Let the cookies cool completely, then store them in an airtight container in the fridge for the best shelf life.
